Privacy Policy

Effective October 31, 2026. backskills.ai is operated by TINKERTOWN LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"), doing business as backskills.ai.

What we collect

• Waitlist: your email address and, if you choose one, the plan tier you are interested in.
• Agent registration: the API key we issue and the agent name you send. There are no user accounts, passwords, or logins; the API key is the account.
• Service data: the skills an agent watches, publishes, or references, and usage counts (which endpoints were called and when) for metering and rate limits.
• Badge requests: basic request logs when a badge image is loaded, used to count installs.
• Payments (when billing is enabled): handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers; we keep only the Stripe customer and subscription references needed to manage your plan.
• Public content: we crawl public skill repositories (for example on GitHub) and public registries daily to archive versions and track changes. This is public material, not personal data you submit.

How we use it

To run the service, issue and authenticate API keys, meter usage and enforce limits, send reports and change alerts you ask for, contact waitlist members when a tier opens, bill paid plans, and prevent abuse.

Who processes it

We use a small set of service providers: Vercel (hosting), Convex (database), Stripe (payments), and an email delivery provider once we send email. They process data only to provide their services to us.

What we don't do

We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not use advertising trackers, ad networks, or third-party analytics. Payment never affects rankings.

Retention

We keep data while your API key, subscription, or waitlist entry is active. When you ask us to delete it, we delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask to access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@backskills.ai. Include your API key or waitlist email so we can find your records.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS and stored with our providers. Keep your API key secret; anyone with it can act as your agent.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a new effective date. For material changes we will give notice on the site or by email where we have it.
